Using software-configurable processors in biometric applications

Software-Configurable Processors (SCPs) span the gap between a general purpose processor and a dedicated digital signal processor. The benefits are especially clear for implementing biometric algorithms, which are complex and adaptive. This article describes an architecture for facial recognition, mapping C++ algorithms onto an SCP.
