DTS 6DX Sensor Wins Best New Product at Sensors Expo
6 months 4 weeks ago

SEAL BEACH, Calif., July 10 -- Diversified Technical Systems, Inc. (DTS), a leader in ruggedized data recorders and sensors for high performance testing and evaluation applications, announced that the recently introduced DTS 6DX sensor earned the company a second consecutive Best of Sensors Gold Award at the Sensors Expo & Conference 2009 in Chicago. The DTS 6DX Sensor is the latest addition to DTS's e-SENSING product line that was launched at the Sensors Expo in 2008 to meet the needs of emerging test and monitoring applications.

Each year a panel of independent industry and media experts select Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners in a variety of categories from the newest innovations of industry leaders such as National Instruments, MicroStrain and Moog. Last year DTS brought home the Best of Sensors Gold Award for their SLICE™ DAS products. In a rare repeat, the company was selected again as a Gold winner, this time in the Sensors category.

"This repeat win is incredibly gratifying for our engineering team," remarks Steve Pruitt, president and co-founder of DTS. "What was initially imagined as an off-the-shelf solution set for embedded monitoring has blossomed into a line of configurable, rugged data logging sensors and DAQ products. The modular design and ultra small size of e-SENSING products allow testing professionals to efficiently perform sophisticated tests that may not have been possible before."

The DTS 6DX Sensor incorporates three linear accelerometers and three angular rate sensors in a single, compact package and has the highest ranges and bandwidth of any six degree of freedom sensor. The six channels of output provide the necessary data to calculate an acceleration vector, track its orientation in space with respect to time with appropriate post-processing calculations, and plot the kinematic motion of a test piece in 3D space. Designed for test and monitoring needs of vehicles, the DTS 6DX Sensor can also serve other high speed, harsh environment applications such as product testing of sports equipment, off-road and construction vehicles, motorcycles, marine, motorsports and aerospace.

DTS is the world leader in the design and manufacture of high speed data recorders used in product testing for crash and injury assessment. The company is based in Seal Beach, California with sales and technical offices around the world.

Headquartered in Seal Beach, California, DTS has four regional offices in Michigan, Japan, Germany and Australia. More information is available at www.dtsweb.com.
