HART Protocol Training Workshops Announced
1 year 11 months ago

Training on the HART® Field Communications Protocol is being offered by the HART Communication Foundation in both the USA and EU throughout 2008. The training workshops focus on HART Fundamentals and Writing Enhanced Device Descriptions and are designed to help engineers take full advantage of all the technologys capabilities. Manufacturers of process control instrumentation and engineers who are thinking of implementing the HART Protocol or are currently developing HART-based field devices and host system interfaces can benefit from this training.

HART Fundamentals and QA Testing 2008 workshops are scheduled Mar.17-20 in Austin, Texas, USA; Apr.14-17 in Austin; June 9-12 in Düsseldorf, Germany; July 21-24 in Austin; and Nov. 3-6 in Düsseldorf. Writing Enhanced Device Descriptions 2008 workshops are scheduled Apr. 7-10 in Düsseldorf, Germany; May 12-15 in Austin, Texas, USA; June 16-19 in Austin; Aug. 11-14 in Austin; Oct. 6-9 in Düsseldorf; and Dec.1-4 in Austin.

HART Fundamentals course covers all aspects of the HART Protocol and is offered as a 2-day or a 4-day session. The first two days provide a technical overview of HART, WirelessHART™ and the HART DDL technology for non-technical vendors and users. 4-day attendees receive the additional information necessary to develop new HART-compatible products, support existing products, design systems that utilize HART, and to test and register their device.

Writing Enhanced Device Descriptions is a comprehensive, hands-on course covering advanced aspects of DD development. Attendees learn how to improve device integration using Device Descriptions based on the EDDL (IEC61804-3) and leave with a step-by-step process for building a Device Description that can be used across all DD-enabled host platforms.

For more information on HART training or to register for these workshops, go to www.hartcomm.org or email irinak@hartcomm.org.

The HART Communication Foundation, an international, not-for-profit, membership organization, is the technology owner and central authority on the HART Protocol. The Foundation provides global support for application of HART technology and manages and controls the HART standards including new technology developments and enhancements that benefit and support the needs of the industry. The HART Protocol is the leading communication technology for smart process instruments with more than 25 million devices installed worldwide.
