Mainz, Germany / Paris, France – April 05, 2006 -- SYSGO AG, the leading European provider of embedded system software, teams up with its French partner AP Embedded Solutions to satisfy the requirements of the French and Southern Europe market. The acquisition is part of the company's growth strategy for 2006. With the products PikeOS and ELinOS as well as consulting, support and engineering services, SYSGO covers market demands for short time to market and cost efficient embedded systems development. “We see increasing demands for our “product plus service” approach in the fields of embedded systems development. "Our customers are more and more involved in Pan European and especially Franco-German projects. Local presence in France has become a must," Knut Degen, CEO of SYSGO, explains. “Together we can finally offer a full scale European product and service solution,” adds Bruno Privat, Commercial Director of APES.
50 percent revenue growth in 2006
SYSGO expects revenues to grow by 50 percent in 2006. The expansion into France confirms the company's successful strategy and its European focus. The growth is fuelled by the broad demand for its real-time operating system PikeOS, a strategic virtualisation solution, and the success of the embedded Linux development environment ELinOS. “Since we launched PikeOS in 2005, the solution was received exceptionally well by the market”, comments Knut Degen. “Our virtualisation solution has an enormous potential to serve as the foundation for stable and secure software migration and platform consolidation. It is equally suited to facilitate formal certification for critical applications or for the adoption of Linux in demanding real time environments or safety applications.” A large number of customers from the avionics, automotive, automation or the Japanese consumer electronics markets currently use SYSGO's technology.
The „product plus service“ approach
SYSGO is specialized in design, implementation and configuration of system software for the embedded market and provides with PikeOS and ELinOS two operating systems for embedded systems development. SYSGO has a strong “product plus service” approach, develops device drivers, board support packages and firmware. For safety critical applications in markets like Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, Medical Technology, and Process Control the company delivers certification support according to safety critical standards (DO178B and IEC-61508).
PikeOS virtualisation platform for safety-critical applications
PikeOS is an innovative product providing an embedded systems platform where multiple virtual machines can run simultaneously in a secure environment. Secure virtualization technology allows multiple operating system APIs to run concurrently on one machine, e. g. safety-critical real-time applications together with Linux.
Professional embedded Linux development with ELinOS
ELinOS is a development environment based on Linux for the creation of embedded systems for intelligent devices. With ELinOS the memory demand of Linux is reduced and conforms to the small hardware resources of embedded systems. Even in this embedded configuration Linux delivers nearly the functionality that makes it so popular in the server and desktop markets.
Strategic cooperations and partnerships
SYSGO AG has secured a strong position in the sector and is well prepared for expansion due to a large number of cooperations and partnerships throughout the embedded systems market. SYSGO cooperates closely with consulting partner CapGemini and has built hardware partnerships with PowerPC and x86 platform manufacturers like DigitalLogic, MEN Mikro Elektronik, MicroSys, Phytec and TQComponents. These hardware partners primarily supply products for automotive, avionics, industrial, railway technology or Military technology markets. With regards to tools, SYSGO was able to win partners like Aonix, Lauterbach, Telelogic, and Esterel. These partners provide tools for automatic code generation, code verification and the development and evaluation of software for critical applications.
